Cottontail Wonders brings gentle, therapy bunnies to nursing homes, senior care communities, schools, corporate events, and private parties β spreading warmth, comfort, and pure joy to the people who need it most.
Our Story
Every visit is planned thoughtfully around the needs and comfort of the people we serve.
All our bunnies are regularly health-checked and lovingly cared for to ensure they are happy and safe for every visit.
Therapy bunnies need regular vet care, special diets, and a lot of love. Our visit fees and donations keep them healthy β so they can keep showing up for the people who need them most.
The Colony
Every bunny in our colony has a story, a personality, and a special gift for bringing comfort to the people they visit. Get to know the furry hearts behind Cottontail Wonders.
Bun Bun is the bunny who started it all. As our eldest and most experienced therapy bunny, she has been visiting residents and spreading joy since the very first day. Patient, gentle, and endlessly loving, she will settle into anyone's lap and stay as long as they need her. She is the heart and soul of Cottontail Wonders β the reason we exist.
Don't let her tiny size fool you β Mopsey is our most requested bunny. Named for her glorious mop of fur, this little girl leaves the biggest impression everywhere she goes. Curious and spirited at home, she transforms into a cuddling professional the moment she arrives at a visit. She even rides shotgun on the school run β a true family road buddy.
Named for her signature helicopter ears, Flopsy is often mistaken for Bun Bun's mini-me β same silky coat, same gorgeous coloring. But this girl is absolutely her own bunny: feisty, fearless, and never backing down from anyone in the colony. She and Mopsey are an unstoppable duo, and together they deliver a level of cuteness that simply cannot be measured.
When our daughter first laid eyes on Ms. Teddywinkle, she said: "Mom, that's what the Easter Bunny is supposed to look like." Pure white, impossibly fluffy, and undeniably magical β Teddywinkle is something straight out of a storybook. At school visits, she and Cindy Lou will quietly move through a crowd and find children with special needs, settling beside them with a gentle calm that takes your breath away. It's a gift we didn't teach her. She just knows.
Cindy Lou arrived the same day as Ms. Teddywinkle, and the two have been inseparable ever since. Soft, serene, and absolutely breathtaking to behold, she has a way of melting even the most guarded hearts the moment she's held. Like her angora sister, Cindy Lou has an extraordinary and unexplained instinct β she seeks out children with special needs at school visits and simply stays with them, quiet and close. We've watched it happen again and again, and it never stops being one of the most beautiful things we've ever seen.

When the World Needs Us Most
When tragedy strikes a community, Cottontail Wonders shows up. We have responded to some of the most heartbreaking events in recent memory β bringing our bunnies to hold, to comfort, and to sit quietly with people whose words have run out.
After the Uvalde school shooting, we were invited by Mini Wonders β a therapy animal organization bringing miniature horses β to join them on the ground. We packed the car with our kids and our bunnies and drove straight there. And from the moment we arrived, our bunnies were every bit as sought after as the mini horses. There is something about a soft, warm bunny in the arms of someone who is grieving that simply cannot be explained β only felt.
We have also responded to campus tragedies, bringing comfort to college students processing unimaginable loss. Crisis response visits are always free β no exceptions, no questions asked. When a community needs us, we go.
When you book a private party, school visit, or corporate event with Cottontail Wonders, you're not just creating a magical experience for your guests β you're directly funding a free therapy visit to a nursing home resident, hospice patient, or community in crisis. Joy shared is joy multiplied. π
What We Offer
From heartfelt senior care visits to unforgettable private events β our bunnies show up for everyone.
We offer every facility a free first visit β because once you see the smiles, you'll understand. After that, a modest visit fee helps us continue our mission. Our bunnies require regular veterinary care, special diets, and lots of love β your fee goes directly to keeping them healthy so they can keep showing up for your residents. We serve memory care, assisted living, and skilled nursing facility communities.
Hospice visits will always be free β for patients and for their families. Bringing a warm, gentle bunny to someone in their final chapter, and to the loved ones walking that road beside them, is one of the most sacred things we do. It is our honor.
Our bunnies bring wonder, calm, and empathy to classrooms of all kinds. A small fee helps cover transport and supplies. Special education programs receive a discounted rate β especially meaningful given our angoras' extraordinary instinct with these children.
Give your team an unforgettable wellness experience. Animal interactions are proven to reduce stress and boost happiness β and nothing brings people together like a room full of fluffy bunnies. Every corporate booking funds our free senior and hospice visits.
Bunnies make everything better β especially birthday parties, bridal showers, and girls' nights! Book our bunnies for your next celebration and give your guests a moment they will never forget. You bring the fun, we bring the fluff β and your booking helps fund a free senior visit.
When a community is hurting, we go. Crisis and trauma response visits are always completely free. If your school, campus, or community has experienced a tragedy and needs us, please reach out. We will do our best to be there.

Forever in Our Hearts
These beloved bunnies gave everything they had β every hop, every cuddle, every gentle nuzzle β to bring comfort and joy to the people they visited. They have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but their love lives on in every smile they left behind.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When a beloved pet passes, they go to this beautiful place β
where they are young again, healthy, and free.
They play in the sunshine until the day we meet again.
And on that day, we will never again be apart.
Run free, sweet ones. You were so very loved. π
Dabbit was our very first giant β and the bunny who proved to us just how powerful this mission could be. On one of his earliest visits, he jumped right out of his stroller and climbed into a resident's lap completely on his own. No coaxing. No hesitation. Just pure, instinctive love. That was all the sign we needed. He became a therapy bunny that very day, and he never looked back. Dabbit had a gift for reaching people who seemed unreachable, and a way of making everyone he visited feel chosen. One family member, after his passing, left a message that said: "RIP Dabbit. I hope my mom and you meet in heaven." We believe they did.
π Crossed the Rainbow Bridge
Benjamin was Peter's brother β a gentle, shy Continental Giant with the most expressive ears you've ever seen. He and Dabbit came to us at the same time, both with little social experience and unsure of the world around them. The journey to earn their trust took patience and time, but once they opened their hearts, they never closed them again. Benjamin blossomed slowly, quietly β and that was his magic. He had a calm, steady presence that was deeply soothing, especially for residents who needed gentleness above all else. He was a quiet wonder, and we miss him dearly.
π Crossed the Rainbow Bridge
Peter was impossible to miss and impossible to forget. At a sturdy 22 pounds, he was our showstopping gentle giant β the bunny who stopped every conversation the moment he entered a room. Residents and staff couldn't help but reach for him, ask for a photo, or simply sit beside him in quiet awe. Benjamin's brother, Peter came to us without social skills, but with patience and love he blossomed into one of the most beloved members of our colony. His calm, sweet presence brought comfort to so many. We carry him with us on every visit.

Good Questions
We believe in being completely honest about what we do, how we do it, and what to expect. Here are the questions we hear most often.
Our bunnies are loving, gentle, and wonderfully socialized β but they are not formally certified therapy animals. Unlike dogs, rabbits cannot be trained to pass formal certification tests, and there is currently no standardized certification program for therapy rabbits. Our bunnies are regularly health-checked and have been raised with love and consistent handling to ensure they are calm, safe, and comfortable in all settings. Our visits are offered in the spirit of comfort, joy, and human-animal connection β not as a licensed clinical therapy service. We simply show up with love, and let the magic happen naturally. π°
No β and we are completely upfront about that. Unlike therapy dogs, rabbits cannot be trained to pass formal certification tests. Our bunnies are exceptionally tame, gentle, and socialized through years of love and consistent handling. Their calm, comforting presence is genuine β not the result of commands. We believe that makes them even more special.
Visits typically run between 30 minutes and one hour. Our bunnies genuinely love people, but they also let us know when they've given their all β and we always listen. When they start getting restless, we wrap up. Their wellbeing comes first, always. Honestly, it just makes them better at what they do.
Absolutely. Our bunnies have been raised with love and are accustomed to being held, petted, and cuddled by people of all ages. We always supervise every interaction closely and handle all placements ourselves. We know each bunny's personality intimately and will always choose the right bunny for the right moment.
Rabbit allergies exist but are less common than dog or cat allergies. We recommend that facilities notify residents and staff in advance of our visit. Anyone with known animal allergies should avoid direct contact with the bunnies. We are happy to discuss any specific concerns before booking.
Yes β our bunnies receive regular veterinary care and are only brought on visits when they are healthy and in good spirits. Bunny medical care is one of our biggest expenses, which is why your visit fees and donations matter so much. A healthy bunny is a happy therapy bunny. π
We serve facilities and events within our local area. For crisis response situations β like our visit to Uvalde β we are willing to travel much further when the need is great. Contact us to discuss your location and we will do our best to make it work.
Our bunnies require regular vet care, special diets, supplies, and a whole lot of love β none of which is free. Our visit fees allow us to keep our bunnies healthy and our mission going. Every paid visit by a for-profit facility or private event directly helps fund our free hospice and crisis response visits. You're not just booking a visit β you're sponsoring one. π
Yes β and these visits are always completely free. We have brought our bunnies to hospice patients and their families, and we responded to the Uvalde community after the school shooting. When people are hurting, a warm bunny in your arms can reach places that words simply cannot. It is the most sacred part of our work.
